Chicago corn futures ended 2023 down about 31%, their largest annual drop in a decade, settling near $4.73 a bushel. Wheat fell 18.8% and soybeans 14.4% over the year, as record Brazilian and US corn crops, a big Brazilian soybean harvest and steady Black Sea trade eased supply concerns.
Large crops in Brazil and the US and reliable Black Sea exports leave feed grain supplies comfortable, so feed buyers should expect continued softness in corn, wheat and soybean prices.
