Alberta government analyst Neil Blue says canola prices have struggled this crop year, with canola exports at the one-third point down 23 percent year on year. Canadian crushers used 300,000 tonnes more canola than a year earlier, but total usage remains lower.
Weak export demand and lower total usage keep canola prices under pressure, while stronger crush demand is the key factor needed to support a recovery.
