Western Livestock Journal reports that Greater Omaha Packing has completed its acquisition of Heartland Proteins, a meat and bone meal purchaser and distributor for feed. Progressive Protein, Greater Omaha's rendering arm, is the main supplier to Heartland.
The company says the deal will support growth in bovine-product sales.
The deal changes ownership of a meat and bone meal distributor but does not alter supply or demand in a way that moves prices.
