Canada Grain Commission data show year-to-date canola exports to December 2023 fell to about 2.51 million tonnes from 3.56 million a year earlier. December shipments to China, Japan and Mexico were all lower year over year, while US imports of Canadian canola rose sharply.
Weaker canola export pace reduces demand for Canadian supply and keeps pressure on canola meal and oil prices in the near term.
