The rand was little changed at 18.945 per dollar in early trade on Thursday, ahead of several domestic data releases including the February producer price index, budget balance and trade figures. Private sector credit extension rose slightly in February.
Routine data releases are not expected to move the rand much, so import costs for feed buyers are stable. The currency remains driven mainly by the US dollar.
