BBVA Research raised its 2024 Peru growth forecast to 2.7% from 2.0%, as weather anomalies linked to the coastal El Niño have been less intense than expected. It expects inflation, now at 3.3%, to fall toward 2.6% by year-end and the sol to weaken to 3.85-3.95 per dollar.
A milder El Niño impact on Peru's economy and agriculture reduces weather risk for regional fishmeal and agri output, while a weaker sol could modestly affect Peruvian export pricing.
