Speakers at the IFFO members meeting in Miami expressed optimism for a rebound in Peruvian fishmeal and fish oil output in 2024 as the first anchovy season opens. Production fell by about 100,000 metric tonnes in Peru in 2023 due to El Niño.
Expected recovery in Peruvian anchovy catches would add fishmeal and fish oil supply, which tends to ease prices for feed buyers.
