The U.S. Grains Council and the North Dakota Corn Council hosted a group of East and West African feed industry stakeholders on a tour of U.S. production, transport and feed facilities in May. The visit covered ADM river and rail facilities in St. Louis and ethanol and DDGS production in Iowa.
The Council says it is working to expand DDGS exports into African feed diets because of the product's high protein content.
Export development efforts aim to widen overseas demand for U.S. DDGS, which could support export volumes over time. The effect on near-term prices is limited because this is a promotional initiative rather than a new purchase or trade flow.
