Peru's Ministry of Production confirmed 1,497,302 tonnes of anchovy landed for indirect human consumption, equal to 60% of the 2.475 million-ton quota. The season began April 16.
The 150,000-ton direct human consumption quota is separate, and the fishery is expected to earn about USD 831 million in export revenue.
Landings at 60% of quota mean a significant share of fishmeal supply is already in the market, which is bearish for fishmeal prices. Remaining landings will continue to add supply through the season.
