Peru's first 2024 anchovy season was 92.44% caught by June 3, with 2.29 million tonnes landed against a 2.475 million tonne quota in the north-central zone. Landings were led by Malabrigo and Chimbote, and the season follows the 2023 cancellation.
Near-full quota landings signal sufficient Peruvian fishmeal supply, which is bearish for fishmeal prices. Lower fishmeal costs could ease pressure on protein feed formulations.
