Rapeseed futures in Paris fell despite the European Commission cutting its 2024/25 EU rapeseed production forecast to 18.3 million tonnes, down 6% from 2023. Winnipeg November canola fell 3.9% to CAD 646/t on sluggish exports and eased prairie heat.
A smaller EU crop would normally support prices, but weak canola and rising new-crop supply are overriding it, pointing to continued pressure on canola meal and rapeseed meal prices for feed buyers.
