Closing futures on August 28, 2024 showed September corn down 2 cents to $3.65¼ and September soybeans down 9 cents to $9.58½. October live cattle closed at $178.62, down 77 cents, and October lean hogs fell 40 cents to $81.67.
These are routine closing levels with no new cause, but they show broad softness in cattle and hogs that feed-animal buyers should note. Grain and oilseed feed costs were also slightly lower.
