Malaysia's January crude palm oil futures contract rose 1.43% to 4,682 ringgit per tonne on Friday, October 30, but still fell 2.84% for the week. The contract gained 1.56% over October.
Recovery from a 5.8% drop in September was supported by firmer crude oil and export demand.
Firmer crude and export demand offset some weekly weakness, but the mixed weekly and monthly moves leave the palm oil trend unclear for buyers.
