KDM Trading's dairy report for the week of August 25 says cheese prices are higher than they have been in several years, with spot milk trading at $2.25 to $3 over Class III. School milk demand is pulling milk toward Class I, tightening supplies for manufacturing, and cold storage stocks fell again in July.
Tighter milk supply and strong cheese and butter prices raise processor milk costs and support dairy demand, which tends to sustain prices for dairy-related feed inputs.
