Malaysian palm oil futures closed more than 1% higher on Friday, with the January contract up 66 ringgit to 4,682 ringgit per tonne. Gains came from bargain buying, firmer Dalian palm olein and Chicago soyoil, and firmer crude; the contract rose 1.56% for the month after falling 5.8% in September.
Firmer crude and rival oil gains support palm oil prices, which can lift soybean oil and competing vegetable oil demand in feed markets.
