The CFTC Commitment of Traders data through October 27 showed speculators added 4,155 Live Cattle contracts while reducing positions in most soft commodities, led by Corn (-85,417), Soybeans (-42,477) and Soybean Meal (-27,195). Prices in the soft markets fell over the five days, with Wheat down 2.61% and Soybeans down 0.48%.
Reduced speculative long positions in grains and meal and falling prices point to weaker near-term sentiment for feed grains. Live Cattle buying suggests continued support for cattle values.
