Brazilian chicken exports fell 12.3% year on year to 379,800 tonnes in August, according to ABPA. Port bottlenecks in Paranagua and Newcastle disease restrictions on shipments to China and Mexico contributed, while average export prices rose 8.9% to $2,089 per tonne.
Lower Brazilian export volumes reduce global chicken supply and support higher chicken prices, though weaker export demand from affected markets is a counterweight.
