The EIA reported U.S. ethanol production averaged 994,000 barrels a day in the latest week, the lowest since May, as seasonal maintenance limited output for a second straight week. Ethanol stocks were 23.5 million barrels, 261,000 lower on the week but 1.476 million above a year earlier.
Ethanol exports averaged 87,000 barrels a day.
Lower ethanol output reduces near-term corn grind and co-product supply, which is a mildly bearish signal for corn and DDGS. The effect is modest because stocks remain above last year and margins are positive.
