Peruvian fishmeal and fish oil prices fell sharply in September 2024, with Peru/Chile super prime fishmeal at US$1,611/t (down 25.3% y/y) and Peru feed fish oil at US$3,230/t (down 61.4% y/y). The decline follows a cancelled 2023 first season and a successful 2024 first season that caught 98.2% of the quota.
Larger Peruvian anchovy supply has pushed marine ingredient prices lower, which eases feed costs for buyers using fishmeal and fish oil in aquafeed and livestock diets.
