Harvest in Darfur, western Sudan, has pushed local sorghum, millet and wheat flour prices down sharply in several regions. Traders in East Darfur reported sorghum falling from about $125 to $78 per sack, while routes reopened to South Sudan.
The decline comes despite ongoing conflict and famine risk.
The local price drop reflects regional harvest supply in a conflict-hit market and has little effect on global sorghum or feed grain prices.
