Produce announced that the second anchovy season in the North-Central region starts November 1, 2024, with a quota of 2.51 million tons. That is above the 2.283 million tons set in 2022 and 1.682 million tons in 2023, and officials estimate the catch will bring in more than $1.3 billion in foreign currency.
A quota well above the last two seasons means more fishmeal and fish oil output, which weighs on fishmeal prices.
