U.S. Midwest wholesale ethanol prices rose 3.1% last week and another 2.3% through Tuesday, reaching 181.48 cents per gallon. FOB Houston prices also climbed, while Brazilian FOB Santos ethanol fell 0.3%, and U.S. ethanol export offers to Central America and Southeast Asia moved higher week-over-week but remained well below year-ago levels.
Stronger U.S. ethanol prices support corn demand from ethanol plants and the DDGS byproduct stream, while weaker year-over-year export values signal soft international demand for U.S. ethanol.
