Ontario and Prairie organic grain prices were mixed in October as the market moved into post-harvest. Ontario organic corn and soybeans faced harvest pressure, while edible beans and oats rose on tight supply.
Organic wheat prices were estimated to have fallen about 20 per cent over the past year.
Ample post-harvest organic supply and full buyer positions keep organic grain values low, while tight oat supply supports oat prices. Feed buyers sourcing organic grains may find cheaper wheat and corn but firmer oats.
