Canadian Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay visited Beijing to meet Chinese importers and industry leaders on Canadian agricultural exports. He voiced concern over China's anti-dumping investigation into Canadian canola seed and pressed for restored market access for beef and dry pet food.
The visit produced no concrete outcome on canola, so uncertainty over possible Chinese tariffs on Canadian canola persists. Until that is resolved, canola meal prices carry some risk.
