MLex reports that the EU plans provisional anti-dumping duties of 58.3% to 84.8% on Chinese lysine exports. The investigation began in April after a complaint from the bloc's sole lysine producer.
The duties would apply to lysine used in food, healthcare and animal feed.
Duties of this size would cut Chinese lysine supply into Europe and lift EU lysine prices. Feed formulators in Europe may face higher amino acid costs or need to source alternatives.
