The March 2025 Malaysian crude palm oil futures contract gained about 2.5% over the week to RM4,587 per ton on December 27. Gains were driven by bargain buying and a weaker ringgit, while weak export data and low year-end buying limited the rise.
Soyoil and palm contracts also rose in China.
Weekly gains reflect firm but range-bound palm oil prices, with a softer ringgit slightly improving export competitiveness for vegetable oil supplies.
