The yen strengthened against the dollar and euro on Thursday as Japan's rate outlook diverged from other central banks. The dollar eased to 154.43 yen and the euro to 160.96 yen.
The ECB was widely expected to cut rates by 25 basis points to 2.75%.
Currency moves tied to diverging central bank policy have no direct effect on feed grain or oilseed supply and demand. They matter to feed buyers only through the strength of the dollar and import costs.
