Kansas State economist Dan O'Brien told a Sorghum Connections meeting in Garden City, Kansas that ample domestic and oilseed supplies leave buyers unworried and are moderating prices. He noted wheat trades mostly $5 to $5.15 a bushel while world stocks-to-use excluding China is near 18.9%, the lowest since 2007-08.
Ample near-term supplies cap grain prices, but very tight world wheat stocks could support prices if exporter supplies tighten, which matters for feed-grain cost outlooks.
