Slow farmer sales in Ukraine and trader need to fill export contracts pushed feed barley prices in Black Sea ports up by 200-400 UAH/t to 10,400-10,600 UAH/t, or about $220-224/t. That puts barley above corn at $218-219/t.
Malting barley purchase prices also rose on limited supply, and barley exports fell for a third straight month.
Limited port-available supply and falling barley exports tighten Black Sea feed barley, which supports global barley values and makes barley less competitive versus corn.
