Ningxia Unisplendour Tianhua is scheduled to halt methionine production for about four weeks from mid-April for external power system maintenance, and Evonik will suspend methionine production for maintenance in April. Threonine producers are holding prices firm after a February low, and lysine prices began rebounding in early March.
Planned outages at major methionine plants are expected to tighten second-quarter supply and push methionine prices higher, while firmer threonine and lysine pricing adds to feed additive cost pressure.
