The EIA national average diesel price rose 2.5 cents to $3.592 a gallon in the week to March 31, the second straight weekly gain. Prices rose in all five PADD districts, with the Rocky Mountain region showing the largest increase.
The price is still 40.4 cents below a year earlier.
Routine weekly retail diesel data shows a small upward move that raises fuel surcharges for hauling feed ingredients. The change is modest and does not signal a new supply shock.
After 109 past bullish report events, ULSD / Diesel moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -3.3% to +3.9%), and +0.3% over 20.
Moves of each commodity's benchmark from the last close before the event. Historical reads pool past events of the same kind; they describe what happened, not what will. Not investment advice.
