USDA AMS data show a new HPAI outbreak confirmed in a commercial table egg flock in Darke County, Ohio, the first since March 4. Total 2025 bird losses have reached 30.6 million across nine states, with Ohio accounting for 44% of national losses.
Losses of more than 30 million layers this year tighten egg supply and keep prices high, and each new outbreak raises the risk of further disruption. The lower layer count gradually reduces feed grain demand.
