Platts is changing its FOB Morocco phosphate rock pricing methodology, effective July 3, to reflect only quarterly contract prices between OCP and verified buyers. The assessment will be renamed with a CP designation and keeps its database code.
Feedback is open until June 3.
The shift to contract-only pricing removes spot signals from the Moroccan phosphate benchmark, which could slow reported price moves. Fertilizer buyers should account for this when hedging phosphate costs.
