The Mexican peso strengthened against the US dollar on Thursday after weak US jobs data and renewed selling of the greenback. Banxico minutes highlighted economic uncertainty, and USD/MXN slipped back below 19.40.
Traders also noted a court ruling against Trump's reciprocal tariffs and an appeal of that ruling.
A firmer peso lowers the peso cost of US feed and grain imports for Mexican buyers. The move mainly reflects dollar weakness and has little direct effect on commodity prices.
