New Zealand's MPI has proposed raising the maximum glyphosate residue limit for oats, barley and wheat from 0.1 mg/kg to 10 mg/kg. Oat millers, including Harraways, say they will keep zero-tolerance glyphosate standards regardless of the change.
The change affects NZ domestic grain residue rules and has little direct effect on world grain prices, though it could affect export reputation for NZ oats.
After 49 past policy events, OATS moved a median -1.1% over 5 sessions (39% higher; middle half -3.3% to +2.7%), and -2.0% over 20.
