The Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA) announced measures to strengthen international reserves and consolidate monetary aggregate control as part of Stage 3 of the economic program. Government securities auctions will allow direct US dollar subscription starting June 2025 for maturities over one year, up to USD1,000 million monthly, and the minimum holding period for non-residents was removed.
Stronger FX reserves and a more stable peso reduce pressure on Argentina's currency and import demand, which can affect Argentine feed and grain export flows and the peso-linked cost of imported inputs.
