Evonik has replaced the plastic film layer in its 25-kilogram MetAMINO DL-methionine bags with an all-paper design. The change starts at its Antwerp plant and is meant to meet EU packaging rules and cut CO2 emissions.
Product quality and 36-month shelf life are unchanged.
The packaging change is an operational sustainability step with no direct effect on methionine supply or price. It may modestly reduce packaging costs and plastic use at the plant.
