Chinese cottonseed prices rose about 23% in H1 2025, from 2,100-2,200 to 2,600-2,700 yuan/mt, on weaker imports and tighter ginning supply. Cotton linter prices rose and then fell sharply, ending June at 3,700-3,800 yuan/mt outside Xinjiang.
Cottonseed meal supply tightness supported feed by-product prices in the first half, but the linter slump signals weaker industrial demand. The second-half outlook is mixed, so meal price direction depends on the new crop.
