US natural gas futures rose to a more than two-week high after EIA data showed an 18 bcf storage injection for the week ended August 22, below the 26 bcf analysts expected. Strong LNG exports and a slightly lower cooling-degree-day forecast also supported prices.
A smaller-than-expected storage build signals tighter supply, which lifts natural gas prices. Higher gas costs can also feed into nitrogen fertilizer and energy-linked feed costs.
