The EUMOFA 2025 study on fishmeal and fish oil, released in July, puts the EU's fishmeal output at 370,000 to 520,000 tonnes and its share of global production at about 8–12%. Denmark led EU production in 2023 with about 35% of the total, and EU fish oil output has varied widely over the past decade.
The study describes structural EU supply that is steady rather than a new shock, so it has limited direct effect on near-term fishmeal prices.
