ADM's August monthly overview said corn recovered after the August 12 USDA reports, which cut 2024/25 ending stocks by 35 million bushels. Soybeans jumped to new monthly highs after USDA trimmed 2025 harvested area and raised yield to a record 53.6 bushels per acre, and all three wheat classes fell to fresh contract lows mid-month.
USDA's mixed August numbers left corn and soybeans with firmer prices while wheat stayed weak. The overview describes past moves rather than a new driver.
