Jerry Gulke reports that December corn rose 8.75 cents in the week ending August 29, while soybeans, soymeal, soyoil and most wheat classes fell. He says the September contract filled a gap and held above it after the August WASDE, which raised corn yield to 188.8 bu/acre and harvested area by nearly 2 million acres.
He suggests a continued rally could generate the first buy signal in over six months.
Technical strength in corn could extend a rally, but the USDA's larger yield and acreage estimates still weigh on fundamentals. Soymeal and soyoil weakness reflects the lack of China demand and pressure on crush economics.

Moves of each commodity's benchmark from the last close before the event. Historical reads pool past events of the same kind; they describe what happened, not what will. Not investment advice.
