The Ohio Poultry Association said the state has largely contained its latest bird flu outbreak, with the last detection on April 14. Producers destroyed more than 15 million birds, and Ohio's commercial laying flock is now about 35 to 36 million hens versus roughly 42 million before the outbreak.
A smaller laying flock keeps egg supply tighter than normal, but the containment reduces the risk of further supply shocks and supports egg price normalization.
