French farmers had harvested soft wheat on 89% of planned area by the end of July, versus a five-year average of 78%. Spring barley harvest reached 91%, and 86% of all grain crops were in, helped by favorable weather, while 69% of corn fields were rated good or excellent but heat and dry conditions raised yield concerns.
A fast harvest with good quality reduces near-term supply worries for wheat and barley, leaving prices little support from French crop progress alone.
