Russia's subcommittee backed extending export duties on sunflower seeds, oil and meal for two years, through August 31, 2028. The seed duty stays at 50% (minimum 32,000 RUB/t), and a floating duty of 70% of the price gap applies to oil and meal.
The stated aim is to contain domestic oil prices and keep meal available for livestock.
Russian export duties restrict the flow of sunflower meal and oil into world markets, which supports international prices. The longer timeframe gives buyers more certainty about Russian export availability.
