Cash basis bids for hard red winter wheat held steady in the southern Plains, while protein premiums rose for high-protein HRW shipped to Kansas City. Railcar premiums for 13% to 13.6% protein wheat rose 33 cents per bushel.
KC December futures settled at $5.05 per bushel.
Higher protein premiums show firm demand from domestic millers for high-quality HRW, though basis weakness reflects heavy inventory and corn harvest pressure. Feed buyers see little change in HRW feed pricing.
