U.S. ethanol prices rose 0.6% through Tuesday, September 16, with Midwest rack ethanol up 2% to 57.09 cents per liter. FOB Houston ethanol gained 12.5% for the week ending September 12 and rose a further 2.3%.
FOB Santos ethanol rose 2.5% to 63.2 cents per liter, and the Gulf-Santos spread narrowed to a negative 7.36 cents per liter.
Routine ethanol price gains have limited direct effect on feed grain or protein prices. The change in the Gulf-Santos spread affects ethanol trade flows between the US and Brazil.
