Ukrainian sunflower demand prices rose by 300-400 UAH/t to 28,500-29,200 UAH/t, although dollar prices rose only $3-4/t. As of October 23, 82% of the area had been harvested, with the crop forecast cut to 10-10.5 million tons.
The hryvnia weakened 0.9% over the week, adding to the local-currency price rise.
A smaller crop and a weaker hryvnia keep sunflower raw material costs high, which supports sunflower meal and oil prices in export markets.
