Dec CBOT soybean oil fell 1% to $1,094.6/mt on Thursday while ICE gasoil edged up $2.75 to $721.25/mt. Backwardation in the Nov/Dec and Nov/Apr spreads widened.
Soyoil and gasoil spreads are firming on curve structure rather than real consumption, so underlying biodiesel demand is weaker than the price action suggests. Soyoil price support may fade if speculative positioning unwinds.
