CBOT November soybeans settled 4-1/4 cents higher at $10.10-3/4 as strong domestic crush offset trade tensions with China. NOPA reported September crush of 197.863 million bushels, a record for the month and above all analyst estimates.
Traders also noted China had yet to secure much of its December-January supply and might tap state reserves.
Record crush supports domestic soybean meal and oil demand, while China's slow purchases of US beans keep export demand uncertain and limit upside in soybeans.
